Exercise Classes at City Health and Fitness Club

De-stress, tone and revitalise with one of our many exercise classes, including specialised Yoga, Legs Bums Tums and Pilates. We also run a broad variety of cardio-based classes to help you shed those excess pounds and improve your overall fitness.

Providing the same health benefits as a regular aerobics programme, each class has been designed to build stamina, improve posture and relieve stress in an upbeat, energetic environment. Class options range from circuit and step sessions to higher intensity body sculpt or you can also spin yourself slim with our intensive spinning workout.

Vinyasa Yoga

A more vigorous style of yoga based on the performance of a series of poses called Sun Salutations, in which movement is matched to the breath.

 

Body Sculpt

Shape and tone up while improving your overall strength, by using weights over a set number of repetitions that address particular muscle groups.

 

Step

Challenge your mind and body as burn calories. The intensity of your workout will be determined by the speed, travel and execution of your movements.

 

Legs, Bums and Tums

A 45 minute exercise class set to music, working on toning up legs, bum and stomach area.

 

Aqua Fit

Suitable for all ages and abilities, this class is a lot of fun and great way to look after your body. Muscles will be toned and strengthened without the aches and pains of high-impact activities out of water. 

 

Spinning

A great cardiovascular workout that uses stationary bikes to vary between resistances, accompanied by upbeat music! Indoor cycling burns serious calories (about 450 in 45 minutes) and offers an awesome aerobic workout that makes your heart pump fast. It also tones your quadriceps (front thigh muscles) and outer thigh muscles.  Because you stay in one place with the same basic movement throughout, this class doesn't involve a lot of coordination.

 

Pilates

Targeting the deep postural muscles, Pilates works by building strength from the inside out. Re-balancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment, regular sessions help to re-shape and tone your body. It will also improve your posture, achieving the perfect balance between strength and flexibility. 

 

Ashtanga Yoga

A fast-paced, intense style yoga. A set series of poses is performed, always in the same order. Ashtanga practice is very physically demanding because of the constant movement from one pose to the next.

 

Abs Shaper

A 30 minute intensive session that focuses on toning and strengthening abdominal muscles.
